At November's General Membership meeting, the following motion was brought forward and approved unanimously, and reads as follows:

Wednesday November 29, 2023 

"It is hereby resolved that Local 1790 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the Palestinians within our membership.

To reiterate a statement originally published by members and staff of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), we, the members of AFSCME Local 1790, understand the power of collective worker action to confront and dismantle oppression, and the pivotal and historic role of the labor movement in resisting imperialism"
